Certificate of airworthiness

For issuing the Certificate of Airworthiness, an applicant shall submit the form: Application for the issuance of the Certificate of Airworthiness (AIR.OBR-000039). The form shall be accompanied by several documents which vary according to the particularities of each case; i.e. whether the aircraft is transferred within EU Member States or if the aircraft is imported from other (third) countries, and whether the aircraft is new or used.

In accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 748/2012, a Certificate of Airworthiness (CofA - EASA Form 25) is issued for all eligible EASA aircrafts with unlimited duration. The certificate is then verified on the annual basis or confirmed by the extension or issue of an Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC).

In case of a transfer of a second-hand aircraft with a valid Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC), the validation of an Airworthiness Review Certificate is done simultaneously with the issuance of the Certificates of Airworthiness.

For a new aircraft the Airworthiness Review certificate is issued together with the Certificate of Airworthiness.
