Airworthiness

Airworthiness means status of an aircraft, engine, propeller or part when it conforms to its approved design and is in a condition for safe operation. It is ensured by certification and oversight of aircraft, and certification and oversight of organizations and persons involved in the construction, manufacturing, continuing airworthiness and maintenance of aircraft.

The scope of work of the airworthiness sector comprises keeping of the aircraft register, initial and continuing airworthiness of aircraft, construction, production and maintenance of aircraft, and licensing of aeronautical technical personnel.
